Lent in the tent: Kegel's Inn opens beer garden tent ahead of first Friday Fish Fry of the season

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Friday Fish Fry season brings out people from all over to eat traditional German fare on Fridays throughout Lent. For the second year in a row, Kegel's Inn is opening up the only heated beer garden tent in the area to hold the crowds of fish fry lovers.

You'll find live music, pretzels, cod, perch and much more from now until Easter.

Julian Kegel, the owner of Kegel's Inn, says the theme of Lent in the Tent this year is Endless Summer. He's leaning into the beer garden experience even when the weather is a little chilly. Everyone is invited to wear a Hawaiian shirt to the beer garden, and they'll get $1 off an old fashioned or beer. Every Hawaiian shirt will also get a shot of Jager.

Kegel's Inn has a little bit of something for everyone, from Vegans to the perch and walleye fish lovers.

If you don't want to get out of the car, Kegel's offers a drive thru for its Fish Fry. Order ahead of time or at the window.
