MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 17-year-old girl accused in a crash that killed three people near 35th and Vliet appeared in court Monday, Sept. 22.
Dashauna Egerson appeared visibly upset as the court commissioner read nine of her charges -- three for each person killed.
The court commissioner told Egerson she was old enough to know she shouldn't have been behind the wheel.
"The ultimate consequence is loss of life in these type of cases. And in this case, we had three lives lost," said Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Barry Phillips. "And if the allegations in this complaint are true, the sad part about it that all you had to do was stop when the lights came on and none of this would have happened."
The criminal complaint says Egerson had been traveling between 70-80 mph in a 30 zone at the time of the crash.
Bond was set at $300,000.
She's due back in court Monday, Sept. 29.

Prosecutors say three people were inside the Dodge Journey at the time of the crash, including Loston. Officers approached the Dodge and a woman climbed out of the passenger's seat, according to the complaint. She was taken into custody after police say she admitted to being the driver. Police also found Loston unconscious inside the car, gripping a black handgun.
The third occupant, who investigators say was in the rear driver's seat, told police Loston was driving the vehicle until 10 minutes before the crash.
She reportedly stated that Loston and the woman switched seats before the chase, and that while fleeing from police, Loston told the driver to "drive" and "don't stop" while holding the gun in his hand and pointing in the driver's direction.
Police found the Dodge was stolen from a residence in Elkhart, Indiana on Sept. 11 and said the key fob to the vehicle was in Loston's pocket.
According to the complaint, Loston has previous charges in Indiana after he fled from police in a stolen Honda CRV.
Loston told investigators he didn't steal the Dodge Journey, according to the complaint, but admitted to knowing it was stolen. He stated that he got a text from the driver to pick her up and to get her some liquor. After picking up the woman and the third occupant, he said he got tired of driving and switched places with her.
Prosecutors say Loston also admitted that when the pursuit began, he was "guiding" the woman on how to drive during a chase.
