Man dead in fatal motorcycle crash in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash near County Highway E between County Highway CC and Powder Hill Road.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, a Milwaukee man in his late twenties -- who also has ties to Richfield -- was found unresponsive in the middle of the road. Police then began lifesaving measures.

According to police, there was a second motorcycle that was operated by a family member. That family member was also on scene.

There was also a car involved -- operated by a woman in her twenties from the Town of Polk. Police say she was out of the vehicle.

The man operating the motorcycle who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Police say initial investigation shows that two motorcyclists were headed eastbound on County Highway E, and the car was headed westbound on County Highway E.

Preliminary evidence also shows that the car crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the motorcyclist head-on.

Police say the female operator of the other motorcycle is cooperating with the investigation.

The area where the crash happened was shut down for four hours for investigation.

This incident still remains under investigation.

This is the 13th fatality crash in Washinton County this year.
