MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 67-year-old Brookfield man is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the shooting death of Patrick Kelly Davis outside a Milwaukee apartment, according to a criminal complaint.

Nathaniel Richards is accused of shooting Davis once in the chest on Tuesday, Jan. 13 outside an apartment near 38th and North, reportedly following an argument over a woman.

A witness told police she arrived at the apartment about five minutes before the shooting to buy crack cocaine from a man she knew as "Nate."

Davis arrived shortly after and began arguing with Nate over a woman named "Megan," according to the complaint.

The witness reportedly said Nate went into a bedroom and got a gun, and when Davis saw the gun, he tried to leave the apartment and Nate followed. Within seconds, she said she heard one gunshot. Nate reportedly never returned to the apartment.

Another witness inside the apartment told detectives he saw Nate armed with a small black handgun during the argument. The argument moved outside and he heard one shot before saying Nate left in a red Jeep. The friend who drove Davis to the location is cited as saying he also heard the gunshot and saw the Jeep drive away before calling 911.

Police arrested Richards the next day at his Brookfield apartment. Officers found two guns, ammunition and more than $62,000 in cash in three safes. In Richards' red Jeep, police found two cellphones and about 206 grams of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine.

Richards is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
