Mayor Johnson hosts 3-mile ride through downtown Milwaukee as part of Wisconsin Bike Week
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's Wisconsin Bike Week, and what better way to celebrate than a trip around Milwaukee hosted by Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
Participants took part in a three-mile ride through downtown Milwaukee, starting and ending at Zeidler Union Square Park.
The trip also highlighted the increased use of Milwaukee's bike share, Bublr, which has rapidly grown in popularity over the past year.
The nonprofit's CEO, Ted Chisholm, gave some insight as to why residents are choosing biking as a preferred method to get around town.
"Looking at our rider share data in 2026 so far, we are seeing more riders than we saw last year," Chisholm said. "And what that shows is that folks are really embracing getting around on two wheels, not just because it's convenient, because it's fun, it's healthy, and a great way to commute sustainably."
Chisholm also shared that by the end of next year, there will be just over 225 stations across Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Allis.
