NARI Home Show returns with ideas to make homes smarter, greener, more functional
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Whether you’re looking to make your home smarter, greener or you just want a space better suited to your needs, the NARI Home Show is packed with inspiration for your next project.
The 3-day event is getting ready to kick off at the Wisconsin State Fair Expo Center, where vendors and contractors are setting up displays showcasing the latest trends in home improvement.
With warmer weather on the horizon, home improvement projects are top of mind for many homeowners.
“It’s such a trusted way to go for home improvements,” said Mike Madson, owner of Colorwheel. “You’ve got vetted professionals.”
The NARI Home Show gives homeowners a chance to meet contractors in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
“What I like here is it removes the pressure of someone being in your home,” Madson said. “Here, you get to flip the script.”
Attendees can connect with experts for everything from full kitchen remodels to light upgrades, painting projects or plumbing fixture replacements.
Every spring, the show also highlights what’s trending in home design. This year, softer color palettes are catching attention.
“We’re getting these soft, beautiful blues, blue-greens that are subtle but really inviting,” Madson said.
The show kicks off Friday, Feb. 13 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 15. Organizers say evening hours can be an especially good time to attend, as crowds thin out and exhibitors have more time to answer questions.
“They’re one of my favorite time slots. You can have really good conversations,” said Madson.
