Ozaukee County Fair brings out the best in the area for 5 days of family fun
CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- From woodchopping to award winning custard, Ozaukee County is pulling out its best for the next five days.
The Ozaukee County Fair offers one of the last free county fairs of the season. It kicked off at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Enjoy the car show on Sunday, fireworks on Wednesday, daily livestock auctions and lots of food.
"We have a new thing at the fair so you can go around tasting food and vote on your favorite and you could win something," said Jamie Nevins, a member of the board of directors for the Ozaukee County Fair.

It's the 164th year of family tradition of making memories at the Ozaukee County Fair.
"I grew up at this fair and that's what we did...We would basically come out to the fair pretty much every night of the week because you knew everyone was going to be at the fair," said Nevins.
To make that possible for families, it's important for organizers to keep the fair free and accessible for everyone. The fair is run on all volunteers; it also allows them to keep prices down.
"Hopefully from the food that you purchase to the beer that you drink, it's going to be fair for people," said Nevins.
There will be tractor and truck pulls Wednesday and Thursday and a demolition derby on Friday and Saturday. There is a fee to get into the grandstand for those shows.
