RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Women for Tomorrow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group that unites women in the Burlington, Waterford, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to serve and positively impact local communities through volunteering, outreach and philanthropy. When women come together for a common cause, there is nothing that cannot be achieved. Founded January 2024 with the intent of bringing local women together to make tomorrow better than today. Members Natalie Scherff and Melanie Lesser joined us in studio.

We meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Low Daily in Burlington. We hold a social from 6-6:30. The meeting begins at 6:30. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. We are not politically or religiously affiliated. We understand, everyone has a lot going on in their lives. That is why there is no obligation to routinely attend meetings. We welcome any time you can give Women for Tomorrow. Despite your level of commitment, you are welcomed and encouraged to join! Let’s do good things and make new friends along the way! Are an efficient group, making the most of every meeting.

The majority of our meetings have a collection effort to meet any deficit or amplify the needs of the community. Some of these have been stocking ERs with clean, warm clothes for women and children, collecting art supplies for area schools, stocking school closets with healthy snacks, personal care items, clothes and shoes, collecting food for the Burlington Library’s food pantry, collecting items for Easter baskets at a local shelter for mothers to give their children, adopting a park, serving meals to those in need. Big upcoming event: 2nd Annual Adult Prom- Dancing Through the Decades will be held on April 12th7pm-11:30pm at Veterans Terrace in Burlington. This event promises to be a blast, as we groove through the decades to support a cause that makes a real difference in our community.

Last year, we were proud to raise funds for the Burlington Transitional Living Center. That spirit of generosity continues by raising money to fund college scholarships for young women at our area schools, Burlington, Catholic Central, and Waterford Union High School. Our mission is simple: to empower young women and positively impact our community through scholarships. The more tickets we sell the larger the scholarships! Tickets are $50 through March 12and will increase to $60 until the event. This September, we will be holding our first annual 5K at Case Eagle Park in Rochester. Funds raised will be used to promote equity in girls' sports while providing opportunities for young girls to participate in sports, regardless of their financial background.
