On Wednesday, Jan. 31, Matt LaFleur made the announcement.
"Jeff has had success at every stop of his coaching career with an impressive track record of developing players at every level. We look forward to him leading our defense," said LaFleur, according to the release.
Hafley spent the last four seasons as head coach at Boston College. The Eagles went 22-26 under Hafley, but only had one losing season. Before that he was a co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State.
Hafley does have NFL experience too, working as a defensive backs coach with the Buccaneers, Browns and 49ers.
