Glendale PD releases footage of July 2025 chase, shootout that ended with man dead
GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- For the first time, we are able to see a police chase and shootout involving a murder suspect that happened over the summer.
Glendale police released body camera and dash camera footage, showing what unfolded after 34-year-old Michael Griffin of Shorewood shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Victoria Truss.
The shooting happened early in the morning on July 3, 2025, near Olive and Bartlett.
A Shorewood police officer was also shot by Griffin, but his bulletproof vest took the shot instead and thankfully, the officer was okay.
Griffin's car was spotted hours later in Glendale, causing a chase to ensue.
Several officers respond, with one attempting to throw stop sticks in front of Griffin's car but missing.
The chase then continues south, speeding up with multiple squads before entering the city of Milwaukee where police once again attempt to spin out his car.
Instead, they are unsuccessful as one officer slides into a traffic light at MLK and Center and comes to a stop as another officer takes over the chase.
Law enforcement continues to follow Griffin's car until they end up in the Brewers Hill neighborhood, where he does eventually spin out and starts a shootout with police.
A Glendale officer shoots back through his windshield while in the driver's seat, before jumping out and shooting, while using his still-moving vehicle as cover.
After a nearly minute-long gun fight, Griffin is found dead inside of his car.
