MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One of the people charged in the shooting death of a Milwaukee USPS letter carrier pled guilty in federal court on Wednesday morning, July 8.

Kevin McCaa is charged with second-degree murder and discharging a firearm for his role in the killing of 44-year-old Aundre Cross back in Dec. 2022.

Cross was on his route when prosecutors said McCaa pulled the trigger after a package containing suspected drugs went missing in the mail.

On Wednesday, dozens of Cross' former coworkers and supporters filled the courtroom during the hearing.

"We love our brother and stuff, and we just want to see justice for him," said Rudy Polk, who worked as a carrier for two decades.

"We just wanted to show support for our guy, he was our guy, he was our spiritual leader and stuff at the station, he has a wife and three kids and stuff and they have to deal with that." - Rudy Polk

Polk added that while they've had to wait for nearly four years, they'll continue to show out no matter how long it takes.

"We are just a family together and we want to show love and support for our brother," Polk said. "Pray for the postal workers and postal carriers. Aundre is gone but not forgotten and just show consideration for your carriers because we're out there doing a good job."

McCaa's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14.
